2021 Easter Initiative Begins

Invitation offers message of hope and renewal in Christ

As Christians around the world prepare for Easter week, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has started its annual Easter initiative. With the ongoing challenges brought on by the pandemic, this year’s campaign offers a timely message of hope and renewal in Jesus Christ through His atoning sacrifice in our lives.

A short video was posted Sunday morning on ComeUntoChrist.org and the Church of Jesus Christ social media channels using the hashtag #StartingToday.

“Starting today we can restart, reboot, relook at our lives,” reads the text in the video. “We can reevaluate, reassess, reexamine everything in life starting today because of how one day started 2,000 years ago. He left the tomb behind. We can leave our past behind if we hear Him, love Him, follow Him.”

Sign up for daily text messages or emails during the week leading up to Easter at ComeUntoChrist.org. Participants will receive notifications containing inspiring ways to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

This year’s initiative runs through Sunday, April 4, which is also the second day of the Church’s general conference weekend.

General Conference

Join with millions worldwide during general conference to hear messages of love and hope from the Church’s leaders on April 3–4, 2021. Five sessions of the global broadcast will originate from the Conference Center Theater in Salt Lake City, Utah, culminating in a special Easter broadcast celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Handel’s ‘Messiah’

Live concerts by the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square have not yet resumed due to COVID-19. But the previously recorded 2018 Handel’s “Messiah” performance by the choir and orchestra, featuring world-class soloists, will be streamed over the internet on Friday, March 26 at 7:00 p.m. mountain daylight time.

Watch the concert at ChurchofJesusChrist.org, TabChoir.org/messiah,  the Church’s Facebook page, and the choir’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
