On Saturday, April 5, 2025, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released a new Easter video titled “Greater Love” and announced this phrase as the theme for Easter 2025. Latter-day Saints all over the world responded by participating in “Greater Love” initiatives — serving in their communities, connecting with those of other faiths, strengthening their testimony of the Savior and inviting everyone to worship in Church on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025.
In Guatemala, local Latter-day Saints joined another faith tradition, the Bethania Institute in Guatemala City, in a classic Guatemalan Holy Week tradition: creating colorful street designs, referred to as “carpets.” Using colored sawdust and stencils, they shared the Church’s Easter theme of ‘Greater Love’ with their community through these intricate works of art.

In Paraguay and Uruguay, youth of the Church took to the streets to share photos of Christ, pamphlets and their personal testimonies of Jesus Christ. In addition to the efforts of young members, images and videos from the “Greater Love” campaign were displayed in public spaces across both countries.
“This is my second Easter as a Christian. After coming to know the Savior and joining the Church, being able to share this with others has been a wonderful experience,” said a young woman in Uruguay.

Canadian Saints in Airdrie, Alberta, remembered the Savior and shared His love by hosting a Christ-centered art show and evening concert. “The purpose of the event is to feel the spirit of our Savior Jesus Christ … and allow others to express their love of the Savior through their artistic talents,” said Stake Relief Society president Danelle Richards. Over 400 people attended the art show.
In addition to prints of famous artwork depicting Christ and the events of Holy Week, over 100 art submissions from local Church members and Christians were also on display. The art pieces ranged from children’s art to semiprofessional work, and included paintings, sculptures, wood carvings, sketches and even a quilt telling the story of an event that strengthened the quilt maker’s faith.

Echoing the Savior’s own ministry of healing, the Church in Peru the Church participated in a free eye care campaign to donate eyeglasses to seniors in the Ventanilla district.
“As a Church, Holy Week — and especially Easter — helps us remember and follow the example of Jesus Christ, who dedicated His life to serving others,” said Elder Oswaldo Soto, an Area Seventy in Peru. “On this occasion, with the free distribution of reading glasses to those most in need, we remember the miracle in which Jesus restored sight to the blind.”
